SIDEis is built around its patented optical unit, consisting of an injection-molded transparent polymer light guide and a multi-source PCB.
This system enables SIDEis to comply with the strictest European standards for street and tunnel lighting, despite its low installation height.
Additionally, different groups of LEDs on the PCB source can be dimmed separately, giving SIDEis the flexibility to create various lighting scenarios and photometric distributions, all remotely controlled (adaptive photometry).
The standard distributions include asymmetric transversal and longitudinal road photometrics. On request, SIDEis can be equipped with additional signaling LED modules in amber and red, turning it into a configurable road flasher for fog, accidents, traffic jams, or other hazards.
The photometric characteristics of these modules enable the luminaire to achieve L2L class according to EN 12352: 2006 (signaling and safety lighting). Each luminaire can communicate with adjacent ones to achieve specific signal sets, such as a whip effect.
10 cm wide, 7 cm high, and weighing only 350 grams: ultra-compact and smaller than most smartphones, SIDEis is designed to replace old and intrusive streetlights, true dinosaurs of street lighting.
It is made from sustainable materials but is so robust and powerful that it can easily illuminate roads, tunnels, and bridges. Mounted less than 1 meter from the ground, it is easily accessible for maintenance and replacement.
Glare and light spillage are significant problems for drivers: they limit the ability to clearly distinguish obstacles; consequently increasing the likelihood of accidents, especially in adverse weather conditions.
Exceeding safety standards, the SIDEis luminaire effectively eliminates light spillage and glare, thanks also to a 20° tiltable mounting angle.
Traditional 10-meter lamp posts emit a significant amount of light that not only hits the intended road but also the surrounding distant areas.
SIDEis effectively illuminates the road surface without light waste, focusing the emission on the driving lane and making the perimeter visibly more defined.
